AASettle Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Klangtech Limited (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the AASettle mobile application. Contact: [email protected] or [email protected].

1. Local-first by design

AASettle is built so that bill groups, expenses, settlement details, receipt images, and on-device OCR processing stay on your device. We do not require an account to use the core app, and we do not operate servers that store your bills or receipts for the free launch.

2. Information on your device

Depending on how you use AASettle, your device may store:

• Group names, member names, expenses, notes, and settlement checklist state
• Instant Bill / tip calculator amounts you enter or confirm
• Receipt photos you choose to capture or attach, and OCR field values after you review them
• App preferences such as currency defaults and display settings
• Local backup files you export

This information remains under your control on the device unless you delete it, export a backup, or share it yourself.

3. What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information
• We do not use your bill or receipt data for advertising tracking
• We do not show third-party ads in AASettle
• We do not operate a cloud service that collects or hosts your bill ledgers or receipt images

4. Camera and photos

Camera and photo library access are used only when you choose to scan a receipt, upload a receipt photo, or view a receipt you attached. Images are processed and stored locally for that purpose. You can deny permission in system settings; those features will simply be unavailable.

5. Sharing you initiate

If you share a PDF, settlement summary, invite, or other content through the system share sheet or another app you select, that content is handled by the destination you choose under that destination’s own terms and privacy practices. AASettle does not process payments and does not receive confirmation of transfers made outside the app.

6. App stores and device platforms

Apple and Google may collect standard install, crash, or diagnostic information according to their policies when you download or use apps from their stores. That processing is controlled by the platform, not by an AASettle backend.

7. Retention, deletion, backups, and device migration

Data on your device remains until you delete groups or expenses, clear AASettle’s app data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the app’s local storage on that device.

If you export a backup, you are responsible for storing and deleting that file. iOS/Android system backups or device-to-device migrations may copy app data according to your system settings; manage those copies in your device or account backup tools.

8. Children

AASettle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of AASettle after an update means you have reviewed the revised policy.
